MKO Abiola’s younger brother arraigned for defrauding pastor

The police have arraigned a 73-year-old younger brother of the late winner of the annulled June 12, 1993 presidential election, Mubasiru Abiola before an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court for allegedly defrauding a pastor of N1.5million.

The police said Mubasiru simultaneously sold one acre of land to one Pastor John Joseph of the Gospel Apostolic Church and another person.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Augustine Ozimini told Magistrate Emmanuel Adekunte last Friday that the accused committed the offence on May 17, 2013 at Obada- Oko in Abeokuta.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the offences.

The magistrate granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case to January 20, 2015 for further hearing.
