My critics are insane – Oliseh

EMBATTLED Super Eagles head coach, Sunday Oliseh has slammed his critics, labelling them as insane people.

In a 3 minutes, 8 seconds live video broadcast on Solis Sports posted on Facebook, Oliseh, lampooned those calling for his sack because the Super Eagles lost out in the CHAN competition, which he stated is one of the least tournaments run by the Confederation of African Football, CAF.

He queried what should be done to the coaches of countries like Ghana, South Africa and Egypt that failed to qualify for the championship that ended in Rwanda last night, insisting that Nigeria is on track for the Nations Cup 2017 ticket.

“Hi. My name is Sunday Oliseh, the chief coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

“I am addressing this insanity which has befallen some of our critics and I call it insanity because they must be insane to start seeking the prerequisite on the future of the national team coach because we crashed out of CHAN.
“I understand that we are sad that we lost out in the tournament. This constant insanity that each time the Super Eagles lost out in a match, some usual critics go on air and start analyzing against the future of the Super Eagles chief coach, which to me is madness.

“They did the same thing when we lost to Congo, which is a friendly game, they were asking questions like: Is he the right coach for us?

“A contract is made out, a contract signed between myself and the NFF. If you are not happy about it, come and we shake hands. But I will like to remind you that this is the 14th game since I have been in charge as Super Eagles Coach and we have just lost 2.

“We are still on track for the Nations Cup 2017; we have qualified into the group stage for the Russia 2018 World Cup. Where is this failure that some of our critics are trying to sell to Nigerians coming from? Unless you mean that for Coach Sunday Oliseh and his crew to be successful, they must win every match. Even World champions Germany cannot do it, talk less of us that is a brand new team that we started building for some months now.

“The team we took to CHAN has almost seven players that are certainly going to leave the shores of this country to play in foreign clubs, I am aware that clubs are interested in signing then, in fact two of them have signed contracts.

“In so many ways we are sad, but I am very proud of what we have been able to achieve with the Super Eagles of Nigeria. It is a question of opinion. In as much as it saddens me, it makes me angry because I am busy with my crew doing the best we can to help the team.

“Nigerians are happy because finally they hurry home to watch the Super Eagles. It is now interesting to watch the team play, we have so much team spirit in the team and just because we lost CHAN, the usual critics have brought out the files again and it is time to attack,” he concluded.
