N-Delta ex-militants pass confidence vote on Manager
Headlines, Niger Delta Monday, January 20th, 2014…MilitantsUGHELLI—NIGER Delta ex-militants in the Third Phase of the Federal Government’s Amnesty Programme have passed a vote of confidence on the senator representing Delta South senatorial district, Senator James Manager, for providing adequate representation to the district in the National Assembly.The group, in a statement by its National Secretary, Tam Odogwu, after a crucial meeting in Bomadi, Delta State said: “We the Third Phase ex-militants wish to express our deepest admiration to our leader and father, Senator Manager, for his numerous achievements as a political gladiator, from when he was the Commissioner for Works, Housing and Transport in Delta State, till this day.“His achievements speak volumes for his capabilities geared towards the provision of the dividends of democracy to our people. Suffice to mention a few.“It was Senator Manager who influenced the construction of Bomadi bridge which has given a boost to the socio-economic activities in the area. He also ensured the construction of elaborate road network all over Delta State. “He was also instrumental to the construction of concrete jetties in the riverine areas of the state.
He built many housing units in designated locations in the state in order to ensure that accommodation is not only available but also affordable. He provided solar powered potable water across the state and cheap and safe transportation via Delta Line as well as scholarships to indigent students in the state and beyond.“As Chairman, Senate Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission, he is actively involved in human empowerment schemes via jobs, enterpreneural skills and major developmental projects in the Niger Delta. This is a clear manifestation of his selfless services.
“Through his achievements, he has demonstrated unequivocally that the life of a man consists, not only of seeing visions and dreaming dreams, but in his penchant, readiness and willingness to impact positively on the lives of others. We are proud of him and are always behind him.
