Contrary to reports, Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke and Ghanaian actress, Nadia Buari, are still involved in a relationship, writes JAYNE AUGOYE

In the last few days, Nollywood actor, Jim Iyke, has been in the news for reasons connected to his romance with Ghanaian actress, Nadia Buari.

Although this is not the first time that the love-birds, who refer to themselves as Skittles and Space, would make news headlines, this time their fans are inclined to wait and see what will become of their stormy relationship.

E-Punch made some attempts to get Nadia’s reaction to reports alleging that she issued a public statement claiming that she could no longer cope with Jim Iyke’s violent temper, but she failed to respond to phone calls and messages from our correspondent as at the time of going to press.

However, Jim Iyke – who is currently mourning the death of his mother – appears to be at the receiving end of flak from critics. He is also involved in an altercation with one Emma, who is alleged to be behind the crisis in the actor’s relationship with Nadia.

When E-Punch tried to get Iyke’s comment, his media manager, Mitch Ngaman, issued a statement explaining that there was no rift between the actor and his lover, only a minor.

“I can assure you that whatever you may have heard regarding the ‘misunderstanding’ between Jim and Nadia is pure speculation. Nonetheless, it is normal for lovers to disagree with each other occasionally or they wouldn’t be human beings,” the statement reads in part.

Ngaman described the rumour as false and the handiwork of the lovers’ detractors. “We are aware of the false rumour about Jim and Nadia’s breakup. We have decided to ignore it because it is unfounded. Jim and Nadia have not broken up, as claimed by Emma.

“That guy is a frustrated musician and blogger whose stock – in – trade is blackmail. All he does is to meddle in other people’s business. And if he does not have his way, he goes into a tantrum and fabricates stories.

We will act when we deem fit. He can keep on ranting for now,” he said.

In November 2013, the couple made a well-publicised trip to Europe that resulted in their formal engagement. But critics waved it aside and said it was simply stage-managed to boost the ratings of Iyke’s reality TV show entitled, Jim Iyke Unscripted.

Although some movie fans still believe the whirlwind romance between both movie stars was as a publicity stunt, they are compelled to wait with bated breaths to see what happens in the end.
