Naija Style: Plateau Gov., Jang, appoints son, 20 others special advisers
Headlines, Plateau, State News Thursday, August 11th, 2011BY TAYE OBATERU – Jos – Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State yesterday made history as he named his son, Yakubu, one of the 21 special advisers he appointed.
A statement by Secretary to the State Government, Prof Shedrach Best named the governor’s son as Special Adviser on Special Duties.
Also appointed was former Bureau Chief of the Nation newspaper, Mr. Ayuba Pam as Special Adviser, Media and Publicity while former occupier of the position, Alhajii Dauda Lamba is now in charge of Legal Matters.
Others were former Chief of Staff to former Governor Joshua Dariye, Mr. Alexander Molwus (Political Affairs), former Commissioner for Finance, Mrs Clara Gyang (Statistics) and Mr. Timothy Parlong (Peace Building).
Although the appointment of the governor’s son came to many as a surprise, some of those who commented said it was a mere formality of a role he had been playing in the last four years.
