NIGERIA and Manchester City hotshot, Kelechi Iheanacho is set for a new five-year deal with his club but on a new pay packet of £200, 000 a week about N70m.
According to Africanfootball. com, agents of Iheanacho are said to have demanded a bumper new Manchester City contract that will see the Nigeria starlet earn a mind-blowing 200,000 pounds-a-week over five years.
“He deserves a fat pay at City as he is now one of the most effective forwards in the whole of Europe when you put his game time against the number of his goals,” a top source argued.
The 19-year-old Nigeria international has netted 13 goals in all competitions this season with seven of them in the Premier League.
AfricanFootball.com was specially told by an insider that the least paid City first-teamer is on 180,000 pounds-a-week with the biggest earner at the club Yaya Toure pocketing almost twice that sum. Iheanacho is expected to bag a new contract by July.
Meanwhile, the young Nigerian says he would be at his best today in the UEFA Champions League second semi-final to stop Cristiano Ronaldo and his gang.
In the first semi-final decided last night, Atletico romped into the final on away goals rule after losing 1-2 to Bayern in Munich.
Atletico won the first leg at home by a lone goal.
