NFF factions clash at Glass House

There was drama at the headquarters of the Nigeria Football Federation on Friday when the Chris Giwa-led faction of the federation attempted to break into the premises in Abuja.

The group arrived the Glass House premises in a motorcade with the aim of taking over the leadership of the federation.

While trying to block the suspected hoodlums from gaining access to the building, NFF’s national security officer, Christian Emeruwa and the federation’s coordinator on political matters, Tunde Aderibigbe were assaulted during the imbroglio.

Some of Giwa’s supporters who accompanied him were Effiong Johnson, Sani Fema, Rumson Baribote, Ben Agary, Yahaya Adama, Jide Fashikun, Fatai Olayinka, and Abdulazeez Mohammed.

The episode is coming 24 hours after a peace meeting by the Sports Committee of the House of Representatives, at which the House Committee members met with NFF President Amaju Pinnick and Giwa, and announced to the world that they were close to reaching a resolution of the ‘crisis’.

The group was dislodged from the Glass House by the police.
