The National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion says that Nigeria loses N500 billion annually on the importation of ICT-based technologies.
A statement in Abuja on Wednesday by the Assistant Director of Corporate Affairs, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, Mr. Levi Anyikwa, quoted the Director-General of NOTAP, Dr. Buba Bindir as having made the remark when he visited SMEDAN.
It stated that research conducted by NOTAP had revealed that a 100 per cent of the imported technologies used in the country were obsolete, overcharged and mismanaged due to lack of technical know-how to maintain them.
