Obafemi tackles club over MLS transfer
Headlines, Soccer, Sports Thursday, February 28th, 2013NIGERIA and Levante striker, Obafemi Martins, hopes to complete a move from Levante to MLS side Seattle Sounders over what he describes as mutually acceptable deal but the Liga team, says it will not release the player.
Seattle are reportedly prepared to match a €3million release clause in Martins’ contract and officials of the team were said to have flown to Spain to conclude the deal with the MLS transfer window open until April.
“It’s a good deal for me, it is a good deal for everyone and it would be nice for my family to go to America.
“I came to Levante for very little money and they will receive more than what it cost to sign me, so it would be a good deal for Levante,’’ Martins told Spanish radio station Cadena SER Valencia. However, insists there is no deal
“Will not negotiate now the exit of any player and if there is an offer then it must be at the termination clause the Spanish outfit tweeted on Wednesday.
Since moving from Rubin Kazan, Martins has made a total of 20 La Liga appearances this season, and scored even goals in the process.wp_posts
