Oil Find Likely in Niger State

He disclosed that the society would be holding its 46th annual conference and that the samples of soil taken from Bida, which contained hydrocarbon that indicates presence of crude oil underground would be further analysed.
Consequently the president of NMGS said that at the end of the society’s five-day conference it would come out with a resolution on the findings from the Bida Trough to authenticate the presence of crude oil in the area. This, he said, would contribute to the body of knowledge in the area of economic policy in Nigeria.
Elueze therefore called on the federal government to advance ways of sustaining the gains of crude oil in the country even as he cautioned that crude oil as a resource was not renewable and so the gains should be channelled positively to diversifying the nation’s economy.
