Opinion: The new Oshodi

Babatunde FasholaBabatunde Fashola

Before the coming of the  Babatunde Fashola administration, many commuters used to dread passing any route leading to Oshodi because of the traffic gridlock in that area. The coming of the administration brought normalcy to the place. The yellow-painted commercial buses that used to ply the Oshodi routes seem to have relocated to Iyana Ipaja area of the state. They now constitute a nuisance, causing traffic congestion and untold hardship to commuters and people living in the axis.

Some residents in the area even say there is no hour of the day that one won’t find traffic jam in Iyana Ipaja. The LASTMA officials in that area constantly try to control the commercial buses drivers to no avail. The state government needs to do something urgently to check the menace of commercial bus drivers.
