AT St. Jude’s Anglican Communion, Ebute Meta, Lagos, under the Diocesan Bishop, Most Rev. Adebayo Dada Akinde, penultimate Sunday, which incidentally, was the day Nigerian Christians joined their counterparts the world over to celebrate Easter.
On this very day, the elated mother of Professor Yemi Osinbajo, the Vice President-elect, came to the church, accompanied by her friends and well-wishers and offered thanks to the Almighty God for what He has done for her and her entire family, especially in the life of her son.
The Guardian had a chat with the 82-years-old mother of the Vice-president-elect, Madam Bisi Osinbajo, which inquired to know how she responded when she received message of her son’s elevated position:
“I feel happy and that is why I’m here today to thank God for what He has done for me and my entire family. I feel I should be praising God for Who He is. And I will continue to do this until I go out of this world.”
Asked if she ever envisaged that her son was going to become the vice president of Nigeria, the octogenarian said: “What I know is that God knows everything.”
Explaining why she worships in the Anglican Church and her son worships with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Madam Osinbajo was quick to say that God is everywhere.
“God is everywhere and I’m happy they are there praying too. Now, look at what God did —wonderful things in our lives. We are grateful to Him.”
The octogenarian equally has a message of hope for Nigeria and Nigerians and that message, according to her, was given to her by God, as she read her Bible that very morning.
She said: “This morning, as I was reading my Bible, God said I should say it so that the world will know what is happening. He said Nigeria will be restored and the entire world will worship God. This is what God said I should tell Nigerians, that Nigeria will be restored by the power of God and the world will rejoice in Him.”wp_posts
