Pastor Adeboye denies rift with aide

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Sunday denied speculations of a sour relationship between him and his lead instrumentalist, Kunle Ajayi.
“I thank God for Kunle Ajayi. Some people are envious of him. I learnt there were publications in some newspapers telling all kinds of lies that he’s no longer in favour with me. That’s a lie,” Adeboye said.
The RCCG Pastor said this during the dedication of Ajayi’s new music studio in Alagbole, a suburb of Lagos.
Speaking further, he said his decision to continue to worship God when he became “born again” paved the way for him to become the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God congregation.
“The church was started in 1952 and I joined in 1973. If there is any matter about somebody who will succeed the general overseer, I shouldn’t be there at all but God finds somebody who finds his favour,” he said.
Ajayi, also a minister in the RCCG, had earlier thanked Adeboye and his wife, Folu Kemi, for honouring his invitation, saying that many world leaders would have wanted to see the pastor at the cost of billions of dollars.
