(NNP) The son of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the revered cleric and General Overseer of the fastest growing church in Nigeria, The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Dare Adeboye is dead. He died in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, where he was based as a provincial youth pastor. Pastor Dare was 42 and would have turned 43 on June 9.
According to sources, the young Adeboye who died in his sleep on Wednesday, did not complain of any illness and had just ministered the night before. His wife, Temiloluwa, was said to have raised the alarm when he didn’t wake up in the morning.
On his 42nd birthday last year, the senior Adeboye described his son as a “ miracle child.” His father wrote on Facebook,
“Our first miracle child. We pray that God will keep his miraculous working power in your life and all those who need a miracle today, will use you as a point of contact for their own in Jesus’ name. (Amen) love from Dad, Mom, and the whole Adeboye dynasty.”
Dare who has been described as a visionary leader and one of the most influential youth pastors was married with children. His younger brother Leke Adeboye, who is the senior personal assistant to his father, posted a moving Scripture on Facebook that talked about the death of the righteous in reaction to his brother’s death,
He posted Isaiah 57:11 that reads, ” “The righteous man perishes(at the hand of evil), and no one takes it to heart, Faithful and devout men are taken away, while no one understands. That the righteous person is taken away(to be spared) from evil and disaster.”
The Head of Media and Public Relations, RCCG, Pastor Olaitan Olubiyi, confirmed the incident to the media.
According to him “It is true. The incident happened in Eket where he was based. I don’t have the details for now. Maybe before the end of today, we will issue a statement.”
