PDP gets new BOT Chairman today
Party Politics, Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) Thursday, November 29th, 2012BARRING any last minute change, a new chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will emerge today, several months after former President Olusegun Obasanjo voluntarily resigned from the position.
A source close to the board told the Nigerian Tribune in Abuja, on Wednesday, that already, the emergency meeting of the Board had been slated for today at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, and would be presided over by President Goodluck Jonathan.
The source revealed that the new BOT chairman might likely emerge from the South, since the incumbent National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, is from the North, while the new secretary of the board, Alhaji Jibrin Wali, is from the North Central.
According to the source, those being touted for the position include Chief Tony Anenih, Senator Ken Nnamani, Alhaji Shuaib Oyedokun, Senator Amodu Allli, Dr Alex Ekwueme and Chief Harry Akande.
