Peter Obi reacts as LP Zonal Chairman dies in Kaduna auto crash

By Davies Ngere Ify

Peter Obi, a presidential candidate for the Labour Party, has expressed his sorrow over the passing of Mallam Lawal Garba, a Zonal Chairman for the party in Kaduna State.

Garba perished in a fatal car accident on Monday on the Kaduna-Zaria highway.

He was returning from the party’s Monday meeting with Northern stakeholders in Arewa House, Kaduna.

In response, Peter Obi tweeted on Tuesday that he was shocked by his passing and wished for his soul to find peace.

”I’m shocked by the news of the sudden and tragic death of Mallam Lawal Garba last night in a fatal vehicular accident. Mallam Garba was in attendance at the Arewa House interactive session.

”His death is a huge loss to his family, the Labour Party family in Kaduna State and the Kaduna people.

”I pray for the peaceful repose of his soul and that God Almighty will grant his family the fortitude to bear this huge loss.”
