Please, withdraw your lawsuits, Tinubu begs Owan-Enoh, Eta

By Tina Agosi Todo, Calabar

The candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has begged Senator John Owan-Enoh and Mary Eta to drop their lawsuits against the party’s governorship candidate.

He made the appeal, yesterday, during his South South town hall meeting with stakeholders at the Cultural Centre in Calabar, Cross River State.

Recall that Owan-Enoh, who was one of the governorship aspirants of the party but lost to Senator Bassey Otu at the party primary in May, had sued the party and Otu. Owan-Enoh, however, lost the two suits against Otu at Federal and Appeal courts.

Eta also contested for the Senate seat for the Central Senatorial District of the state in the primary but lost to the present House of Assembly Speaker, William Eteng.

Tinubu, who called both aggrieved members of the party to the stage shortly before the town hall meeting commenced, said: “Mary Eta and I didn’t start today, we have been friends long ago. And Senator John Owan-Enoh, no matter what, you are bound to be disappointed as far as you are human but please, withdraw your lawsuits. Let us work together.”

Tinubu, who described himself as a front wheel driver, said moving Nigeria forward was the only reason he was running to be the President come 2023 elections.

He said: “I am a front wheel driver, driving Nigeria forward is the only reason I am running.

“Division, anger, breaking apart will not solve Nigeria’s problem. It is only building a team of intellectuals, visionaries that we can build a great Nigeria.”

He commended the Governor, Ben Ayade, for his industrialisation drive and bringing the state to limelight.

He also commended Senator Florence Ita Giwa for her work for humanity.
