Police ban Okada operation at Lagos airport

In a bid to curb robbery and other criminal activities at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Lagos, the Airport Police Command, Wednesday, banned commercial motorcyclists, also known as Okada, from operating within the airport.

Disclosing this development to newsmen at the Presidential Wing of the airport, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Augustine Okpadile, said, “the Airport Police Command hereby warn commercial motorcyclists, to henceforth stop plying the routes within the airports as these routes have since been pronibited by the authority.”

Okpadile noted that the ban was placed by the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, adding that it will help boost security as well as cleanse the airport from all criminal activities.

He said, “any commercial motorcyclist caught flouting this order will be arrested and the motocycle impounded while the rider will be prosecuted accordingly.”
