Police parade 3 foreigners, 17 others for alleged kidnapping, vandalism

AKURE—POLICE in Ondo State yesterday paraded three foreigners and 17 other suspects including three brothers for kidnapping, ritual murder and pipeline vandalism.

Three of the suspects were alleged to have kidnapped a one-year and four-month-old girl, Dada Akingboye, while sleeping beside her mother, Mrs Pupa Akingboye in Ikoriho, Igbokoda.

The police later found Dada lifeless body with her vital organs allegedly removed by the suspects for rituals.
Addressing newsmen the State Police Commissioner, Sani Magaji said the girl’s right eye, right ear lobe, right side of her lip, the skin of the right side of her forehead and the skin of the back of her right palm were removed.

He said the suspects had confessed to the crime along with 12 others.

The Commissioner also noted that a 22-year-old Godwin Okeke, who was paraded along with two of his brothers, Azuka Okeke and Blessing Okeke, claimed to be a 300 level Political Science student in a private university in Delta State.
Others are Ugochukwu Nwosu, Peretu Fredick and Akindele Ogunmusere who was said to have just finished his Secondary School education.

He said N1.5 million and a road map of Okitipupa showing security points, five mobile phones and a Toyota Matrix with plate number  CG 644RSH were recovered from the suspected kidnappers.

A 30-year old woman, Bosede Johnson, was also paraded for allegedly breaking into shops in the state and stealing clothing materials worth N2million, which she resold to unsuspecting customers.

Bosede, according to the Police Commissioner, came from Ijebu Ode in Ogun State to commit the crime.
Mr. Magaji said three of the four suspects paraded for alleged pipeline vandalism are citizens of Benin Republic.
He said they confessed that “the fuel loaded in their truck when they were apprehended, was from an NNPC burst pipeline inside the bush at Akinfosile in Okitipupa area of the state.”

Acting on tip off, the police, according to the commissioner, intercepted the truck marked XQ 980EPE loaded with 33,000 litres of petroleum product.

The Commissioner said that the foreigners; Zakaru Sani, Amisu Isiaka and Rasheed Sani sneaked to the country to perpetrate the evil.

Mogaji added that five others armed robbery suspects were arrested with a stolen Police rifle and ammunitions recovered from them
