President Writes Ojukwu
Headlines, Presidency Sunday, January 2nd, 2011President Goodluck Jonathan has wished the ailing Ikemba Nnewi Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu, Ojukwu a quick recovery.
Ojukwu is currently recuperating in a London hospital where he was flown to on December 24, 2010, for further treatment for stroke.
In a personal letter dated December 31, 2010, Jonathan prayed for Ojukwu’s full recuperation from the ailment.
A copy of the letter, sent to Ojukwu through the Nigerian High Commission in London, was made available to State House correspondents in Abuja on Saturday.
“I write, on behalf of my family, the government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to convey to you our earnest wishes for your very quick recovery from your indisposition.
“Ever since you took ill and had to be flown abroad for medical attention, I have followed your progress with keen interest.
“It is, therefore, a source of great relief for me to learn of the fact that you are getting better and very well on the way to recovery,’’ the President wrote in the letter.
Jonathan prayed God to grant Ojukwu “many more years of robust health, enduring strength and uncommon wisdom.”wp_posts
