Sad 37th birthday for Cristiano Ronaldo

Mega football star Cristiano Ronaldo is 37 today, but not a birthday he will celebrate with the happiest of circumstances.

Ronaldo on the last day of his 36th year on earth missed in the 20th minute a penalty for Man United that ought to have shot the team ahead of Championship side, Middlesbrough in the FA Cup 4th Round.

This was before Jadon Sancho’s opener in the 25th minute.

Although Ronaldo scored his kick in the tie-break penalty shootout, it was not enough as Middlesbrough were perfect with their eight kicks.

United on the other hand fumbled out after substitute, Anthony Elanga shot his kick over the bar.

Nevertheless, we wish the Portugal captain a happy birthday.

He deserves all the accolades and well wishes on his birthday.

Born as Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro on 5 February 1985, Ronaldo at the moment plays for his country and Manchester United.

He captains his Portugal national team.

The jury is still undecided on who to crown as the ultimate football G.O.A.T, between Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

While the world waits for the verdict, one can reach one’s conclusion with the following facts:

Ronaldo has won five Ballon d’Or awards, and four European Golden Shoes, the most by a European player.

He has won 32 trophies in his career, including seven league titles, five UEFA Champions Leagues, one UEFA European Championship and one UEFA Nations League.

Ronaldo holds the records for most appearances (181), most goals (140) and assists (42) in the Champions League.

He also holds the record for most goals in the European Championship (14), most international goals by a male player (115), and most international appearances by a European male (184).

He is one of the few players to have made over 1,100 professional career appearances, and has scored over 800 official senior career goals for club and country.

Outside of football, Ronaldo is the most followed person on earth both on Instagram ( almost 400m) and Facebook(over 150 million).

But President Barack Obama beats him on Twitter with the largest following.

While Obama has 130.7 million, Ronaldo has 97million.

At 37 today, Ronaldo is not thinking of quitting football yet.

“I can’t promise you 20 more years of this. But what I can promise you, is that as long as I keep going, you’ll never receive less than 100 per cent from me,” he said recently.

Happy Birthday CR7!.
