Sani Kaita has scored his first goal for his new club, Enyimba, on Sunday in the 1-0 Week 13 win in the Nigeria Professional Football League match against Kaduna United at the Aba Township Stadium.

The former Super Eagles midfielder, who joined Enyimba from Olympiakos Nicosia in April on loan, scored the match’s only goal in the 35th minute in his third appearance for the club.

Also, Gbolahan Salami got his fifth goal of the season for Warri Wolves in their 1-0 home win against Heartland at the Warri Township Stadium on Sunday.

The forward, who has featured in all his side’s league matches this season, scored in the 50th minute to ensure the points for the Warri based club.

Senegalese defender, Pierre Coly, also scored a goal for Rangers in Enugu in their Sunday’s 2-0 win over Crown.

The Senegalese nodded in his first goal for the club in the sixth minute off a cross from one of his teammates before Osaigona Ighodaro ensured the points in the 76th minute off a tap in.

On Saturday, Sharks and Sunshine Stars had engaged in a six-goal thriller at the Akure Stadium when they played 3-3 in a match that saw the return of Gbenga Ogunbote to his former club.

Kano Pillars also put up a chase to the title they had won last season with a 2-0 home win over Nasarawa United. The champions had won their last match on the road 3-2 at Gombe United on Wednesday.

In other matches played at the weekend, Giwa beat Gombe United 1-0, Nembe City defeated El Kanemi Warriors 1-0, Abia Warriors also beat Lobi Stars 2-1, while Dolphins beat Akwa United 1-0. FC Taraba completed the home win with a 2-1 victory over Bayelsa United. wp_posts
