Stop insulting the President, PDP faction tells Amaechi’s supporters
Party Politics, Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP), Rivers, State News Friday, April 19th, 2013A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party loyal to President Goodluck Jonathan has cautioned loyalists of the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, on their tendency to insult the President.
The PDP Rivers State Legislators Forum and the ‘Concerned Elders of the PDP in Rivers State, who spoke to journalists at two different press conferences in Abuja, condemned the attacks on the person of the President and the condemnation of the judiciary by the Chairman of the Rivers State Caucus in the House of Reps, Mr. Asita Honourable, as a result of the court verdict that sacked the state executive committee of the PDP in Rivers.
A former governorship candidate in Rivers, Chief Sergeant Awuse, read the text of the address of the Concerned Elders.
He said it was wrong for anybody to use derogatory words on the office of the President because he is the President of Nigeria and not just the PDP.
When contacted, the ousted state Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr. George Ukwuoma-Nwogba, refused to comment on matter.
Ukwuoma-Nwogba said since they had filed an appeal in court, it was not necessary to respond to the statements credited to members of the other faction of the party.
