Supporters club mobilises support for Eagles World Cup cracker
Headlines, Soccer, Sports Tuesday, August 20th, 2013The Eagles are scheduled to take on the Flames of Malawi on Sept. 7 at the U.J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar in a World Cup qualifier.
Samuel Ikpea, the Secretary of the club in Lagos on Tuesday said that the match was crucial for the country as victory would pave way for the team to be at the Brazil World Cup.
“This is a must-win match for the African Champions. We have been discussing with state chapters of our club to mobilise members and fans.
“We are making serious preparations because Nigeria has to be in the World Cup’’.
The secretary added that the club had directed the host chapter to prepare elaborately for the match by organising support campaigns.
“I want to assure you that the Super Eagles will not lack the support of fans to cheer them to victory,’’ Ikpea said.
The secretary, however, expressed confidence in the ability of the Eagles to defeat their opponents. (NAN)
