Suspected herdsmen kill Rivers PDP ex-guber aspirant
Headlines, Latest Politics, Party Politics, Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP), Rivers, State News Saturday, March 21st, 2020A former governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State, Soalabo West, has been killed by suspected herdsmen.
He was reportedly kidnapped outside his farm and later died in custody.
The lawyer was abducted on March 7 in Port Harcourt, the state capital.
Two days into his abduction, the deceased established contact with his wherein the kidnappers, established to be ‘herdsmen’, demanded a N30 million ransom.
A family source said during the period, the demand was reviewed downward to N2.5 million. But the ex-guber aspirant was killed by his captors after they allegedly failed to get the sum, having being intercepted by the police while wanting to pick up the ransom.=
