The Best of Gov. T.A. Orji – By Odimegwu Onwumere,

orji_2By Odimegwu Onwumere, |Rivers, Nigeria | June 28, 2013 – A government without good performance is like a pregnancy without fetus. A lie can take off with the speed of lightening but a lameduck truth will always surmount that speed. These are unconnected to the scorn called governance of Gov. T.A Orji of Abia State, no matter the arsenal of hoodwinkers he surrounds himself with christened media aides who are bent on misleading the general public to believe that the pretenses that are being perpetrated in the state are the true meaning of governance, with their misguided utterances and garrulous carriages.

Reading their articles in our prestigious newspapers makes one wants to throw-up because of the mountain of lies and defilements against critics they lace their articles with. These are the best that Gov. Theodore A. Orji can offer.

The truth is that the well-meaning people of Abia State knew that the government is good at charade and calling critics names and warping malicious stories against those who write or say contrarily to what the governor wants to hear. This government has been doing to this writer with fictitious names. This government is also bent on using over seven names to circulate just one article. But however it tries in its shallowness to paint black white, the true stories happening in the present Abia State must be told.

What this Gov. Orji’s government does not understand is that no amount of assemblages of false articles can hide the truth, no matter the numerous media outfits that are carrying the lies contained in such articles; perhaps the media outfits are oblivious of the intention of the writer(s), because no well-mannered editor or publisher would publish lies and blackmails for anything.

The Abia State Government media aides’ articles will continue to imprison the already out-of-shape Gov. T.A Orji and his misshaped government with much deformity. Gov. Orji has to come out from the media dungeon that his so-called media aides have thrown him into in the belief that they are redeeming his ailing image.

Jim Morrison warns people like Gov. Orji to come out of the waste-of-time habit of portraying who they are really not, saying that the most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are (without gainsaying). You trade in your reality for a role. You trade in your sense for an act. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask. There can’t be any large-scale revolution until there’s a personal revolution, on an individual level. It’s got to happen inside first.

Hope he knows that our people of Abia State are being provoked by the lies he circulates in the media that his government is the best that has ever happened to that state. And no wonder his is the best in behaving like Columbian chaps, because it is very easy to read that in his media aides’ articles. The in-thing is that Gov. Orji will not be voted for in any elections again in the country or anywhere in the world because he has shown that he is not even fit for a village head.

The clothes that were once fitting our people are now loose, because of the headache that Orji is giving them in the cause of governance that has brought untold hardships than ever. A walk from the road that leads from Opopo junction to Okpakiri of Ogbo Hill axis is like a journey to Golgotha, as one is stressed on bad road because of manmade badness.

The same is applicable in all the areas, but here is a governor that is boasting of building dialysis centres and Shoprite, when our people can’t even see any reason for accepting democracy. What causes renal failures that lead people to visit dialysis centre if not bad environment, such that our people have taken much emitting poisons from in this government? Go to our state and ask: Side by side in an election with an insane person, our people would prefer to vote the person instead they will vote for T.A Orji who has caused the state some immorality.

His authoritative decisions like the incessant imposition of taxes on the residents are unbecoming of in a governmental segment as democracy. Say Motor Park leadership is what our state has turned to. Other arms of government in the state are seemingly coerced to be rubberstamped while Gov. Orji, his family and minute part of his ubiquitous cronies take the field’s day. Would Gov. Orji also twist the truth that there has never been Local Government Areas’ election since six years he has been reigning as a monarch instead of an elected governor in our state?

The levels of blemishes that have characterised Orji’s government are immeasurable. If he doubts that he does not operate as a monarch, why are the people heading these LGAs appointed by him instead of being elected? Do not say that this is one of the conduits through which the state’s money goes down the drains.

Orji has refused to bulge for progress; the only progress his government is making is to manufacture nasty stories against anyone who dared pinpointed these facts. But that spiteful behaviour will not deter us, rather such enlivens us to tell the world the true state of Abia State than the crassness he has been fighting hard to seeing that he sells to the unsuspecting publics who had before reading, refused to buy or believe in anything Gov. Orji.

The condition, politically, in Abia State in term of true governance, is nothing to write home about. However, our people have refused to be intimidated by Gov. Orji and his anesthetized boys. Structures and good governance they have always told the world that exist in Abia State only exist in the newspapers that they always publish their hocus-pocus. Our people will never give in for the many shrewd antics of labeling this writer and other critics rapists, blackmailers, extortionists, kidnapers and sundry sullied stories. Notwithstanding, these are the only words that Gov. T.A Orji’s media gangsters are good at pronouncing.

Gov. Orji has to repent, and desist from misleading the people that he is performing whereas that was daydreaming. He should listen to and, learn from Mahatma Gandhi, who once said: “When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love have always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time, they can seem invincible, but in the end, they always fall. Think of it–always.”
