THE WONDERS OF FASHOLA -DOES PDP STAND A CHANCE?: Barely five days to the gubernatorial election, the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has vowed to beat the PDP in Tuesday’s polls…

Barely five days to the gubernatorial election, the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has vowed to beat the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Tuesday’s polls, even as he raised fresh alarm over plots by the ruling party to rig the election and cause mayhem in the state.

Governor Fashola, while addressing the party supporters at his re-election campaign rally in Ifako / Ijaye area of the state, urged the electorate to disregard the voting pattern during the presidential election, saying the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) had firm grip on the state.

He told the large crowd that attended the rally to ensure that their votes were not invalidated, urging them to wipe the ink on their finger on their clothes before touching the ballot paper as that was the surest way of guiding against invalidating their votes.
He alleged that members of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) were perfecting plans to cause confusion and rigging of the governorship polls, warning them not to toy with the wish of the people.
Meanwhile, the House of Representatives candidate for Ifako –Ijaiye Constituency for the party, Otunba Michael Ogunnusi, has declared the donation of eight boreholes with generators to power them, promising fair representation of his constituents if elected.

He also alerted members of the ACN to the move by the rival PDP to rig Tuesday’s election.
Ogunnusi disclosed that he identified poor representation and lack of change as the problems hampering development and progress of Ifako/Ijaiye Federal Constituency, promising better and fair representation if eventually voted in the postponed National Assembly election of the area.
“I have sat down to view the unfolding political dispositions in Nigeria and discovered that we are being led by mediocre because greater percentage of Nigerians are suffering in the midst of plenty and I feel there is need to rescue the situation.”wp_posts
