Uche Okafor: FG awaits FBI report
Headlines, Soccer, Sports Sunday, January 23rd, 2011
Minister of Foreign Affairs, Odein Ajumogobia (SAN) said at the weekend that the Federal Government would not take any action on the death of former Super Eagles’ defender, Uche Okafor until the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) submits its report.
While responding to questions from newsmen, Ajumogobia said the Federal Government for now cannot do anything until the investigations are properly concluded by the Bureau.
“It’s after the FBI report that the Federal Government can now step into the matter and find a way forward”, he said.
Okafor, whose corpse is being expected for burial next month, was earlier speculated to have committed suicide. But the US police have made a volte face on the suicide claim to make thorough investigation after the Nigerian community disagreed with their shoddy investigation
