Warren Buffett added $37 million a day to his wealth in 2013, making him more profitable than any other billionaire in the US, Wealth-X claimed.

Buffett, known for his adherence to the value investing philosophy, made $12.7 billion in the year to December 11, taking his wealth to $59.1 billion.

Buffett, however, is not the wealthiest billionaire in the US.
That title remains with Microsoft chairman Bill Gates, who added $11.5 billion to his personal fortune in 2013, ending the year with assets totalling $72.6 billion.
n number three spot on the list is casino mogul Sheldon Adelson, who raked in $11.4 billion in 2013 from his gambling properties in Las Vegas, Macau and Singapore. His personal net worth is estimated to be more than $35 billion.
he individuals on the top 10 list collectively gained $101.8 billion in 2013, an average gain of $10.2 billion each, and more than the Gross Domestic Product’s of Puerto Rico or Slovakia.
The combined wealth of the 10 individuals now totals $347 billion, up from $245 billion in January.
On average, they made $29 million per day in 2013, and increased their wealth by 41.6 per cent, outperforming the 24 per cent returns seen in the S & P 500 this year.
The gains were fuelled almost entirely by rising stock prices, which boosted the value of company shares held by founders and corporate chiefs. The wealth was spread throughout all industries, suggesting that the broad stock market gains have been the chief wealth driver this year rather than industry-specific gains in tech, energy or other sectors.
