Why Kalu Has No ‘Shame’ – By Rubby Obinna

Orji-Kalu

By Rubby Obinna | Imo State, Nigeria | August 18, 2014 – The frequent attacks on Chief Orji Uzor Kalu by the boys of the government in Umuahia, Abia State, are purely as a result of joblessness. If they had some meaningful things to do, they would not always wake up with what to smear the personality of Kalu with, everyday.

They do not write to tell their boss to create jobs in the state; they do not tell their boss that he was the one with dishonour for abusing the trust that Kalu had on him and overwhelmingly sponsored him to become governor in 2007, from prison. And when Kalu does, they write that he has no shame. Imagine!

I’m yet to understand the rationale in the article by one Frankie James published in Elombah.com, August 17, 2014, with the title, “Orji Uzor Kalu: A Man without Shame”.

Known as a political jobber who has been doing the scandalous biddings of the government in Umuahia, Frankie James was even linked to some murders in the recent times in the state. my findings can confirm.

Frankie James, though not real name, made a lot of senseless attempts to mislead the unsuspecting public against the person of Kalu with incoherent attributes he linked Kalu with in his jaundiced article.

All that he raised against Kalu in that article are falseness and meant to discredit the public figure that Kalu is, my findings can authoritatively prove. James had thought that Kalu had no ‘shame’, because of the stances of Kalu of late that the government in Umuahia has been in the habit of celebrating most of his achievements when he was governor.

The shameless James refused to note that his boss ought not to be talking if this is a sane clime owing to his suspicious habit in betraying trust. No matter the lies that this government may be using to deceive the general public against Kalu, it is obvious that the government is the instigator and discreditor of the man that had helped the leader to a very large extent. So, the world can now see between Kalu and the governor of Abia State who is shame.

I really pity the aides of the Abia State government because they lack solidity and often speak with the two sides of their mouth. Kalu made some great achievement during his era despite his shortcomings (as a human being), but the man at the helm-of-affairs in Umuahia has always been boastful and on motion without any action to equal his noise.

If I’m allowed to advise the governor, I would say that he should concentrate his energy on construction and re-construction of good road, drainage channels, power supply, infrastructural development, portable water, and leave all that propaganda the government is using against Kalu.

I do not want to say that Elombah.com has become one of the portals through which the government in Umuahia sends its malicious propaganda against Kalu; the same is applicable to Ukpaka Reporters, Pointblanknews.com and a host of them.

These online media platforms started very well as the watchdogs of the masses but they are now bent on yellow journalism or what is today called stomach infrastructure and, have lost their initial purpose of delineating information without any form of biasness.

I do not want to say that the government in Umuahia stands for mischief, stands for corruption, stands for duplicity, stands for heartless looting of Abia treasury, stands for injustice… This is because if I say, such comment would heat up the already hot Abia State.

I would suggest that Kalu should not bother about all that distractions from the government and its aides against him. Ndigbo know the truth and would always stand by him. We know that if there is a match between Kalu and the man in Umuahia to walk the streets of Umuahia, the other would be afraid to do so.

It is obvious that Kalu has achieved his feat as governor and people are raising hands for him. People have agreed that he is not barefaced because he achieved what have not been achieved during his administration. Nigerians are tired hearing that the present government has achieved a lot without any list to show for the achievements.

Like an observer recently said of Abia State: “This is not a tomato market forum. If you say the incumbent governor has achieved a lot, please with all due respect, list the achievements. If you say contrary also list them. I am tired of hearing he has tried in the areas of roads, education, health, salaries etc. Personally I passed through Aba and I have never seen a dirty and filthy highway in my life more than what I saw on that Aba/Ph road. Not even mentioning the appalling state of the roads.”
