Argentina spoil for re-match with Eagles

APPARENTLY stung by the embarrassing 4-1 pounding of the once-dreaded Argentine national team by the Eagles, the Argentine Football Association, AFA, are spoiling for a re-match to save the shame the scoreline has brought to their team.
Coach Sergio Batista led a colourless Argentine national team without the heavyweights like Lionel Messi, Carlos Tevez, Gonzalo Gerardo “El Pipita” Higuaín, Ángel Fabián di María, Diego Milito, Sergio Leonel “Kun” Agüero among others to the national stadium in Abuja where they were bashed 4-1 in a most embarrassing match that the Samson Siasia-led Eagles dominated.
The football world was dumb-founded with the scoreline and to make matters worse, the Albiceleste image were further dented with a 1-0 defeat in the hands of Poland in a friendly after the Nigerian humiliation.
Weighed down by these defeats, the South Americans are smoking of revenge with the Nigerians in a yet to be agreed venue for a re-match where they intend to field their world stars. NFF scribe, Musa Amadu confirmed the re-match by the Argentines but noted that talks were still on-going.
“By next week, we should have confirmed the dates and venues of the matches lined up for the Eagles”,.
The Eagles who drew their African Cup of Nations qualifier with Ethiopia (2-2) known more for long distance races than football are now biting their nails and calculating how they can qualify for the Nations Cup that would be co-hosted by Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.
