Falcons crash out

NIGERIA’S Super Falcons yesterday, at the Frankfurt Arena, lost their second consecutive match in the ongoing 2011 FIFA Women World Cup when they went down to host, Germany by 0-1 in a second group A match.
Having lost their first match to France last Sunday in Shinsheim, the Falcons have crashed out of the competition as the third game against Canada on Sunday will end up as mere formalty.
Germany book their place in the second round of the competition.
The host with six points from two games having beaten Canada 2-1 in the first match before wrapping up qualification with the win over Falcons.
Meanwhile, France are through to the second round on six points having defeated Canada 4-0 in Bochum.
Canada was the first country to be eliminated from the World Cup, having lost by 0-4 to France.
