Falcons miss $2,000 bonus •As NFF increases bonus to $4,000

EACH player of the Super Falcons missed $2,000 winning bonus following their 0-1 loss to France in the opening group match of the Women’s World Cup on Sunday in Germany.

A source told Tribunesports that the Nigeria Football Federation had dangled the juicy bonus before the Falcons to enable the players be at their best in the global championship.

“It is painful that the Falcons lost this match because each of them would have made at least N300,000. The NFF would continue to motivate them because this is the first match and with encouragement, they can still spring surprises,” an official of the Falcons said.

Meanwhile, the winning bonus of the Falcons has been increased to $4,000.

A source told Tribunesports that the football federation increased the bonus so as to motivate the team to strive for excellence.
