NIGERIA’S Flying Eagles emerged the winner of the FIFA Fair Play award of the just concluded FIFA U-20 World Cup competition in Colombia.
The John Obuh tutored side only collected three yellow cards from sixty five fouls committed in their five matches played in the competition.
Ganiu Ogungbe, Emmanuel Anyanwu and Ahmed Musa collected the yellow cards for the Flying Eagles which crashed out of the competition in the quarterfinal to France.
The award is not solely based on bookings, however, but also on outward display of sportsmanship on and off the pitch, as judged by FIFA’s Technical Study Group (TSG).
