Ghana defeat Falcons 3-2 – NSC shocked at defeat

The defeat of the Super Falcons by Ghana over the weekend has lowered the medal estimation of the National Sports Commission at the forthcoming All Africa Games in Mozambique in September.

Reliable source at the NSC said the officials at the commission were ruing over the Falcons defeat because it has reduced the number of medals it had earlier estimated at the Maputo games.

Eucharia Uche that requested for the importation foreign-based professionals to beef up her squad for the return leg in Ghana after missing the first leg in Abuja a fortnight back, could not utilise the materials to clinch the ticket to the games.

The team was humbled 2-1 to end Falcons’ Maputo games ambition on 3-2 aggregate.

“It was a huge loss to both the NSC and the Nigeria Football Federation that spent so much on the invitation of the foreign-based pros”, the source said.
