Nigerian fans in Germany call for Siasia’s head

SUPER Eagles’ chief coach, Samson Siasia, was slammed by Nigerian football fans in Germany over what they alleged as disrespectful attitude of the coach to national solidarity.
News of Siasia’s coming to boost the morale of Super Falcons, ahead of yesterday’s Match number 9 of Germany 2011 FIFA Women World Cup against Germany in Frankfurt, spread among Nigerian fans who came to meet with the coach and appreciate his results for the Super Eagles so far.
On spotting Siasia at Falcons’ Maritim Hotel in Frankfurt, the fans and accredited Nigerian journalists moved to exchange pleasantries with him but the coach snubbed the crowd and went in straight to the lobby of the hotel.
Entreaties by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)’s officials to persuade Siasia to attend to journalists failed as the coach declined.
An enraged Joseph Obanor, a Nigerian based in Frankfurt, told Tribunesports that Siasia might soon land in trouble, if he failed to change his attitude.
”We left our job and commitments just to appreciate the Falcons and everything Nigerian. Here is the coach of the Super Eagles treating Nigerians like nobodies, even club coaches show respect to their rivals’ fans. Siasia does not respect fans, journalists and even his employers; he is not mature for the job,” he reacted.
