Rochas Okorocha, Senator representing Imo West and former Imo Governor has promised to build a school in a border town in Ogun State to cater for the underprivileged.

He made the promise after being offered a chieftaincy title in the Iseluland, by Eselu of Iseluland, Oba Akintunde Akinyemi on Tuesday.

Okorocha would be titled Otunba Asoludero of Iselu Kingdom by the king.

The former governor accepted to be a titleholder in the Yewa-North Local Government community in Ogun State.

Okorocha said he would reciprocate the kind gesture by making sure that his 25-year-old foundation becomes functional in Ogun State.

The monarch also said that the ceremony to confer the chieftaincy title would hold September 19, 2021.

Recently, Okorocha was honoured with the prestigious award of Outstanding Friend of Ibadanland by the Olubadan, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji.

The former governor established the Rochas Foundation College at Oke Ado Ibadan and Toll Gate, Ibadan/Lagos Expressway, where over 6000 indigent children had the opportunity of tuition-free and quality education.

This made the Ibadan monarch honour the former Imo State governor.

Reportedly, Okorocha through his NGO has built 21 tuition-free schools across 12 states in Nigeria.
