Mr. President, Allow Us to Become Professional Resources in Your Administration – Dr. John E. Oshodi & Queen Momoh

By Dr. John Oshodi & Queen Momoh | NNP | August 1, 2015 – President Muhammadu Buhari, now that you have been sworn in to lead Nigeria with a newly restored commitment to usher in democratic institutional practices, we would like an opportunity to bring our practical experiences in government services to you as a resource for your use.

Sir, in line with your commitment to bring competent professionals into your Administration through openness, we would welcome the chance to offer you “our brains” containing almost three decades of a unique mix of experience, knowledge, and skills that will definitely support your Administration in the critical areas of criminal justice which include mental disability related matters.

Although we have diverse public-based expertise and experiences, our focus has been and remains on Prison and other Criminal Justice-related areas using the Science of Psychology/Mental health.

We also consider ourselves good fit in the areas of: Criminal Justice/Law Enforcement Personnel matters (Nigeria Police Force; Nigeria Prison Service; Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps; Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Independent Corrupt Practices & Other Related Offences, National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, State Security Service).

Our professional work experience also extends to the areas of Education, Employment, Vocational Rehabilitation, Disability and Social Security matters; Mental Health, HIV/AIDS and Poverty-Related matters which adds an intrinsic value.

Over the past years, one of us with the support of the other have written scholarly articles/publications in the areas of human psychology, police, prison, judiciary, education, disability and organizational effectiveness, in addition to over one hundred public opinion or real life articles on Nigerian institutional issues.

If given the chance, we will use our expertise, research work, and experience to focus on Prison/Police-Related Issues ( Psychological Assessment, Inmate/Custody Care, Staff/leadership Training and Management ), Juvenile Justice Issues (Planning on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention); National Security Issues (Domestic Preparedness, Anti-Terrorism, Emergency/Crisis Management, Need and Risk Assessment of Security Risk Persons); Judiciary and Court Issues (Behavioral Training, Anti-Impropriety, Employee Ethics, Personal integrity and Professionalism, Proper Record-Keeping, Victims of Crime Services and Offender Supervision Planning); Health-Related Matters (Mental Healthcare/Education, Preventive Care Services HIV/AIDS, Drug abuse/Treatment, and Community Mental Health); Labor and Employment Matters (Vocational Rehabilitation, Employment and Disability Services); Organizational, Institutional and Governance ( Ethical and Behavioral Effectiveness ); and Education and Higher Institutions Matters (Quality Monitoring Systems, Educational Discipline and Supervision).

Sir, as Native Nigerians, with super love for our emerging democracy we come to you with the spirit of professional commitment, openness and loyalty. Sir, bring us Home now!

A question that has often come into our minds and hearts is this–since we have been providing professional services in our areas of competencies at the Municipal, State and Federal levels in the United States of America since 198os, why not in our native land?

Sir, you have called upon advanced western societies, America included, to bring in their human assets to help develop Nigeria. Our track records in government services in America instill within us an added value with which to serve our native land.

We are confident that our excellent record of success in our areas of expertise over the last three decades clearly demonstrates our proven abilities to meet and resolve current institutional, prison, law enforcement, and judiciary and disability challenges in Nigeria. We are looking forward to the opportunity of becoming part of your emerging administration. God’s blessings and protection at all times.

Sincerely,

John Egbeazien Oshodi and Queen Momoh, Miami, Florida. [email protected]; [email protected]_posts
